Tucked away in Whiteface Mountain, New York, from the outside, Aura Academy looks like many other elite preparatory schools with its enormous bankroll and wealthy patrons. But a closer look at Aura yields a very different story—one that is both mystifying and unusual. Aura seems to select its students seemingly at random. It also seems to frequently reject applicants for teaching jobs by an ostensibly arbitrary criteria.
But from the inside, Aura Academy is a typical boarding school with a huge secret: all of its students are magically-gifted. Within its walls, Aura Academy students can do remarkable things: change shape, move objects with their mind, communicate or travel vast distances instantaneously.

the arena; The arena is one of the several small stadiums on Aura's campus. It is also the only one specialized for sparring, and as such, is designed with durability in mind. Years of battles though, have given the field a bit of a worn down appearance, despite the best attempts to keep it in top condition. Though rigid rules and sanctions are in place to prevent injury, it has happened. The Arena is closed except for sanctioned events.
